Hiya guys! The summer heat isn’t stopping for anybody this month! It seems like in the south it’s significantly worse. So, how do you deal? I recently stocked my closet with a few new things for the remainder of summer, one of which I’m featuring today, because it’s cool, comfy, and less than 6 dollars at Target. That’s right… I said less than 6 dollars! Today, we’re going budget-friendly with some basics I find myself wearing on more than one occasion per week every summer. We all like to save money, right? Right! So let’s talk about my outfit…

I wore this on the 4th of July and it includes some of my favorite summer staples: a light top, high-waist shorts, and strappy sandals. I bought the shirt just under a month ago, but I didn’t get the amazing sale price sadly! I’m wearing a medium and it’s just slightly over-sized, so I threw it in a french tuck which is one of my favorite and easiest methods to quickly tailor any top to avoid being swallowed by fabric. I later paired the top with some dark-wash jeans and white mules and wore it to the office that following Friday. The shorts (Hollister) and sandals (Steve Madden) were thrifted from Plato’s Closet last summer so they’re old but I think they still have plenty of value left in them. Honestly you guys, I’ve slept on Plato’s since I started working for Dillard’s so I forget that it’s the holy grail of second-hand shops. Example: Steve Madden sandals for 9 dollars?!? A freaking steal! Lastly, I tossed on a couple of accessories I’ve been obsessed with lately: a satin neck scarf and my beloved Steve Madden straw cross-body that I ordered back in March. Links to each below!
