Happy Friday! We’re over halfway through 2018!

How was your 4th of July? It’s a shame that this year Independence Day was on a Wednesday. How random!? I only got one day away from the office which I totally think wasn’t enough so I tried to make the most of it the best that I could. Both my mom and my sister were in town which is a superb rarity. Tuesday evening we met up and went out to eat at Heights Tacos & Tamales. We filled her in with all things New York and then went back to her hotel to just sit and talk. The next morning, we met again for coffee at Mylo in Hillcrest before I went home to get ready for the evening’s festivities. I was invited to a house party for bbq’ed ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, corn-on-the-cob, homemade coleslaw (which I shared on my Pinterest because it was that damn good) and drinks. T’was delish! Lastly, the sis and I bid farewell to go meet my mom and some family friends at the Marriott downtown. We popped champagne and got to watch Pops on the River at near-eye level. It was the greatest view I’d ever had.

Then returned to work yesterday.

What else is new?

Just Dillard’s things: I HAVE GRADUATED from the training program at my job and I’m so thrilled. I think within the next few weeks, they’ll be holding an official-not-so-official graduation ceremony for my class and treating us to lunch. It’s been a long-time coming… does this mean I’m an actual adult?

Part two of my travels to NYC went live Monday. That included days 3, 4, and 5. I can’t believe it’s already over and I’ve finished recapping. I’m counting down the days till my next vacay this coming March. Only 8 months left…

Next week, I’m getting back into the swing of working out since I bought a whole new month of unlimited classes at Zen Studio during their summer promotion… buy one month unlimited, get a 5th week free. Kind of nervous/excited to get back there. We’re playing BINGO! 😀

I’m so ready to relax this weekend. Nothing major on the itinerary yet but while my family’s still in town I’m sure we’ll think of something fun to do. Enjoy yours! XOXO Elizabeth

Everything I’ve clicked on this week:

Great price on this straw handbag if you’re in need of one!

Sneakers I wore all over New York City. I was specifically looking for some that were comfortable walking shoes but also fashionable. Landed on these multi-functional babies and have never looked back.

They added new colors to this staple blazer that I just love featuring!

Who doesn’t love a good sweater tank? LOFT is killing the game with their summer sale! Use the code HBDUSA.

The Ladygang’s Cruel Summer box is now for sale online. You know me… I’m obsessed with my girls. Last night, they were already down to fewer than 100 boxes so you better hurry. I bought mine this morning!

This CBS This Morning segment brought tears to my eyes. I hate to even leave something so heavy here but I won’t be one to standby when so many suicide attempts will happen today alone. Check in with your strong friend.

Yes, please. I’ll take one in each color!

I knew there was a reason why I stay away from the mall. I haven’t shopped at American Eagle in YEARS and last Saturday, I found this sassy and fun tube top that is now at the top of my want list. This one is practically sold out, which inspired a search for similar ones (here, here, and here).

This super cute one-piece just dropped to below $40.
